There is a treasure hunt hidden in this website. It starts on the homepage and ends in a chest, and the first person to open the chest wins a website. This page shows how far people have got, and the terms.
Counts are of people, not clicks: each browser is counted once per stage, and nothing here identifies anyone. The words of the phrase are not on this page, or anywhere in the code. They are in the pictures.
Somewhere on the homepage there is a way to make the sea come in. After that, a message goes out in a bottle. Follow it.
One map, torn into five pieces, is hidden in places Meko goes: some on this site, some not. Each piece is a picture with one word on it. When you find your first, a satchel appears in the bottom-left corner of every page and keeps them for you.
The pieces only fit together one way, so the order is in the tears. With all five, the satchel becomes a chest. Say the words to it, with your name and email, and the sea answers.
Nothing needs a developer: no console, no view-source, no typing in the address bar. A mouse or a finger is enough. If you prefer reduced motion, the hunt still works; it just holds still.

The prize
The first person to make a correct claim through the chest wins a website designed and built by Meko, worth £3,000: a bespoke marketing site of up to five pages, scoped together after the win, with the same fixed-price process every client gets. Hosting, domain names and any third-party subscriptions are not included. The prize is not a discount code and has no cash alternative. Two other things on this site hand out discount codes; they are jokes, not this prize.

Further prizes, by draw
Further prizes, including £1,000 off a Meko build, are awarded by draw among people who have joined the Meko list, whether through the chest or anywhere else on the site. Being second to the chest does not win anything on its own; joining the list is what enters you. The draw takes place within 14 days of the competition closing and winners are told by email.

No purchase necessary
Playing is free. You do not need to buy anything, book anything or be a client to take part or to win.

Who can enter
Open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 or over. Meko's family, and anyone who worked on the hunt, cannot win.

One claim per person
One claim each. Duplicate claims, claims made with someone else's details, and claims made by automated means are void.

The first valid claim
Claims are timed by Meko's server when they arrive. Meko's decision on which claim is the first valid one is final, and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

When it ends
The competition closes when Kya announces it, here and on Meko's X account. If the chest is opened, that announcement will follow soon after. Claims that arrive after the close do not win the first prize; joining the list still enters the draw until the draw is made.

Your details
Your name, email and handle are used only to run the competition and to contact you if you win. Meko will only send you the list emails if you ticked the box, and every one has an unsubscribe link. Everything else is covered by the privacy policy.
